Friendship

I want to build up my relationships and start new ones, but all I see is mountains to climb and I'm already tired. What is working for you or worked for you when you were a new mom? My LO is 21 months. I chat with parents and nannies at the park, but it doesn't go beyond that. Heading into winter, and I don't want to lose that. Feeling isolated, but also like, even if I made a real connection with a new friend I don't know how to spend time/connect with them/build a relationship...

@Aryyy What a blessing to have family! I only have 1 cousin nearby and they don't seem to be interested in spending time. I've organized 3 gatherings with them. Cooked 2 meals for them. They haven't reciprocated, so I'm moving on. It might be something about me. 🤷

I hear you! Same here, don’t have family and it takes a lot of time and effort reaching out to people, most times I have to initiate it and like you said, I don’t feel it is something reciprocal

Totally relatable. However, something like this app or even chatting in forums like this one can help. I wasn’t finding much luck with finding mom friends as it was kind of like online dating however, I ended up making a post asking if there was anyone who wanted to join me for karaoke and one of the moms that responded doesn’t live in my state, but we ended up chatting and it happened so organically that we exchanged phone numbers and now we text each other almost every day
