Feedback on Aletta?

My maternal grandparents are/were named Al and Rhetta. It was pronounced ree-tuh, not ret-tuh, but I love the name Etta (eh-tuh) as a subtle nod to her. Sometimes just Etta feels a little lackluster, though? I came across Aletta recently and thought it would be a funny and sly way of nodding both grandparents with one name. I think it’s common in Dutch speaking countries? I love in the southern/midwest US. Slightly worried it would prompt “a letter” jokes. *not pregnant yet, waiting for baby #3 and always curating a list for when they come along. We have two boys now, Warren and Clyde.

I like it! I can kind of see the “a letter” thing. What about Alouetta? There’s also Alita which has the ee-ta pronunciation.

I like it. Kids will find ways to make fun of names that you could never imagine. I wouldn’t worry too much

i love the name Etta, and Aletta gives the name a cute twist! you may also like Alouetta/Alouette or Arietta! 💕

I love the name Loretta shortened to etta 🩷🩷

Aletta is beautiful if you’re set on it and I think unfortunately children will always find a way to joke about a name even if it’s not explicitly similar to another word🩷

My first thought was A-tella the hun 🙈 Which I’m aware is not the name you’ve put, just what I read! I love Etta though. It’s beautiful.

I like it!
