Does anyone’s kid cry without tears?

My baby boy cried with tears and it breaks my soul. It is so stinking cute and heartbreaking. My daughter has really never had tears! She’s maybe had tears like five times in her whole life. Is that normal? I never really noticed it until I had my son and he started busting out the tears around 6 weeks.

Can be while they are still young and developing but it can also be from dehydration! If there are no other signs of that (strong pee, sunken eyes, dry lips) then she’s probably just still developing tear ducts!

@Emily even though she’s 2.5? That’s a good note about dehydration I’ll pay abut more to her pee smell. She does have little bags under her eyes but I thought that was because she’s a terrible sleeper. She didn’t fall asleep until 11 last night then woke up every hour… I fell asleep cuddling her and had to leave because my son woke them she knocked out 😑

My sons 8 weeks and doesn’t cry with tears either

My baby has a frustrated cry, where she cries without tears. She also cries when she is sad (with tears) and hurt (with tears).

@Kassia mine never cries. She feel out of the trampoline and smacked her head on cement and she didn’t have any tears. (My MIL was “watching” her and didn’t zip it closed)

May have blocked tear ducts

As a nurse my first thought is hydration. Is she drinking enough fluids? Because unless shes fake crying, I dont think thats normal. Tear ducts can get clogged among other issues. It never hurts to ask the pediatrician next time you’re in.

Dehydrated or faking it lol

If they’re not a newborn, I would be worried

My toddler cries with tears when he’s got a good reason to cry. When it’s whining or fake crying he won’t cry with tears.
