Is anyone else just genuinely scared of birth?

I can’t get past it. I know there’s nothing I can do about it, or to control it. It will and has to happen. I wanted to be pregnant and have a baby so bad. Now this happens to me mentally. Does anyone have any advice that helped them be less…. Nervous and on edge about it? 🫣

I was PETRIFIED of giving birth but when it came it all disappeared for me, I had all back labour & induction I was in too much pain to be nervous or scared! It’s the thought of it that makes you scared, it’s definitely an experience to look forward to, sometimes I wish I could relive my labour ❤️ You will do great mumma 💕

A hypnobirthing course might put your mind at ease. As well as teaching you many ways to help your body and baby to work together to get through ((and maybe even enjoy!) labour and birth, it also teaches you exactly what’s happening in your body through each stage of labour. I found that demystifying it really helped to make it feel less scary, and I felt very empowered and ready to embrace it once my induction date arrived.

I second hypnobirthing! I started it before becoming pregnant with both girls and felt nothing but prepared. Even when things weren’t going as expected and before would have absolutely shaken me I went in completely relaxed with no fear

I was! And I talked to a woman who told me she was also terrified until someone told her to look around - and every person you see was birthed, and it’s very scary but it’s how we all get here and we are so much more capable than we think. It really helped!

Hypnotherapy. Do it. Changed my life.

Trust me when it happens all those fears wash away and you just focus on pushing snd getting baby here safe🥰 xx

This was me two weeks ago. I was a nervous wreck. Ended up getting a c section and it was the best decision for my mental and emotional health.

I was always terrified of it. Not actually for that reason, but I ended up having an elective c-section. However, before deciding on that, I did a Hypnobirthing course - it really changed my outlook on birth. Had the c-section for other reasons. If it hadn’t been for those reasons, I think Hypnobirthing sounds amazing. Worth looking into.

try reading the book “ina mays guide to childbirth”. reading positive birth stories was super helpful for me

I literally decided to not have kids bc of my insane fear of birth from as long as I can rmbr until I got accidentally pregnant at 36. To deal with it I hired a doula and she really helped me feel prepared, understand the process - went well!

I also agree with others… hypnobirthing changed my whole perspective on giving birth! I was terrified and even wanted a C-Section because I hated the unknown of what could happen but then done an online course with the Positive Birthing Company and I was actually looking forward to giving birth. Hast forward 2 years and I’ve had 2 vaginal births

I also did hypnobirthing and was able to give birth unmedicated despite being terrified. The contraction did hurt but pushing was kinda... comforting after having contractions for hours. And immediately after I barely remembered the pain, in fact I'd totally do it again 😂 so it's just a few hours that you have to grit your teeth

Hypnobirthing!!! I had two positive experiences. I wasn’t scared but excited both times. One at hospital and other at home 6 months ago. Look into trustworthy hypnobirthing even if one ends up with c section, it can still be a positive experience.
