Bottle smell

Has anyone had to but new bottles due to smelling and the smell not coming out? I throughly wash bottles to make sure they're clean and have been on allergy formula since 2 weeks old she's 1 on Friday I've had to order new bottles because they absolutely stink and I can't get the smell out no matter what I do and obviously don't want to give her bottles that smell

Have you tried soaking in diluted white vinegar to remove any build up and odours? We are on allergy formula too and had this issue. Sorted us on MAMS

How do you sterilise them? I use Milton and cold water tablets and find that helps. I did find on SMA althera it was really hard to get the greasy residue off the bottles. Neocate is a lot better for cleaning!

@Rachel I hadn't thought about this to be honest They wasn't to bad then yesterday I washed them went to make one and it absolutely stank! I rewashed them but couldn't get the smell out at all Luckily this was only 4 out of 7 of her bottles so she had some to get her through the day

@Aimee I use a steam steriliser Sounds silly but with my first he had to go to the hospital and was in a few days meaning I had to use their cold water steriliser and the smell made me feel awful so I never used one again We use neocate have done since 3 weeks old that's the strange thing as the milk doesn't smell that bad to be honest but the bottles did

Milton Bottle Cleaner and washing in cold water was the only thing that stopped ours from smelling using althera! Just make sure the water is cold or it makes the grease run x

Hot water with a Milton tab in it to soak them as it lifts off that film that Aptamil Pepti 1 leaves behind. Give it about 20 mins and then wash thoroughly and steam sterilise. Also, you can use the Milton water and soak your cups overnight to remove tea/coffee stains from the inside afterwards 😉

Baking soda mixed in with your soap. Works wonders for me
