Ahhh we are having the same issue! We have tried everything over the last few months! Since Friday we have tried always putting something on his plate that we know he will eat (in a small amount) and then other foods on his plate. We have also stuck to 2 snacks and 3 meals a day and nothing inbetween. We’ve had to be hard core and if he doesn’t eat what’s on the plate then he waits till the next scheduled meal time/snack It seems to be working wonders 🤞🏻🤞🏻 still has good and bad days/meals but majority seems to be really positive x
Somehow my child survives on very little some days, it's wild
We all go through it! For us it was doing something we knew he’d eat so fish pie for example then we’d have a fish finger or carrot there too, something he’d not had before. For me the more I tried to force him to try the new thing the worse the refusal was so I tried to talk about other aspects of the food like ‘I wonder what that carrot sounds like when you bite it? Will it crunch, or squeak or will it be soft, hot or cold etc. sometimes I’d even ask them to chop it up and mess with it for mum to try. Also things like why’s don’t you touch it with your tongue and see what it feels like…it was a tiny first step towards it going in his mouth! There are days he’s still not eat it but that’s ok. It’s a case of putting it back on the plate over and over. It does make a lot of food waste but it’s a process. It look our two year old around a week or two to eat a pepper for example.
I think I worry cos he’s never really eaten a smaller version of our meals. He’s only ever eaten snacky things and baby pots. I have tried and tried and tried. Really stressful.
My little one is a terrible eater, we’ve been trying everything under the sun for the last year to get her to expand her palette but no luck. I give her what we eat but also some of something that I know she will eat (which is what everyone says we should be doing) but it’s made no difference. I’m at my wits end with it, but what can you do 🤷♀️ the more you force the more they dig their heels in, so I just offer and let her decide
Hey my little girl is very fussy too won’t even eat bread :( we give her little dish meals for tea as worked out she prefers foods with lots of sauce and easier to chew but lunches she doesn’t want a lot xx
