Not afraid of heights

My toddler has absolutely no fear of heights. I can never remove eyes of him because he climbs a bed/sofa/chair all the time and if I don't catch him, he just jumps. I noticed that other toddlers that we know are more careful. But they are 3-4 months older. So I am not sure if this is a temporary thing or just the way he is. I removed all furniture that could be removed from bedroom and kitchen where we spend most of our time, but there is still some furniture that can be climbed on. So when I cook he runs around the room and/or tries to climb on sofa, for example. Then I have to jump like crazy to catch him on time. It is very tiring and nerve-wrecking, so during the last few days I give him screen time while I cook for him to make sure that he stays in one place. Is anyone going through the same? Looking for some advise...

Same! My kid has figured out how to climb the sofa and has fallen several times. It's getting on my last nerve! Not sure what to do! Like, I don't think I can baby-proof my house anymore.

Did y’all try teaching them over and over how to crawl down backwards? My daughter used to plunge off the couch and I would have to catch her, but after practicing going down backwards, she can do it carefully herself now.

Going through the same thing - but my husband did work with our kid to teach her how to climb down safely. Generally, I let her climb most things and try not to freak out to take away the novelty factor. I hope by staying calm she’ll eventually lose interest. But I agree it’s nerve wracking.
