Is a pregnancy positive supposed to get darker?

Found out I was pregnant 5 days ago, the line was so so faint and everyone said they couldn’t see it but I could so I got a digital and low and behold ‘pregnant 1-2 weeks’ 5 days later and I’ve took my last strip I had, just for my own reassurance and it’s still soooooo faint, darker than before but still so so faint. Surely if the pregnancy was progressing it would be getting darker due to the pregnancy hormone? Can anyone advise? I’m so worried I’m going to lose the baby

Mine stayed light my whole pregnancy if that helps 😊

@Monica thank you!! I’m so worried, I’m only 4 weeks but I’m just worried because the line is still faint

Don't worry I was the same I lost count how many test I had taken through out my whole pregnancy

My one was lighter then yours

The test is usually darker nearest to your missed period, most pregnancy test packs say 99% accurate from X amount of days from missed period which I actually didn’t know. I took a pregnancy test at 9 weeks and it was so so faint had me worried but all is well ! X

Yes, the closer to your period, that darker the line will become. It is still so early, give it time and you’ll see the difference in a week

@Maggie it’s not early? I said I was 5 days past my period, not before…

@Leonie I am passed my period….im now over a week since I missed my period and the line is still the same colour :/

The line will only mean so much. I highly recommend that you get blood work done now and again in a few days. If you see in increase in HCG then it’ll show that it’s progressing. My pregnancy tests were never fully dark either Some just don’t get extremely dark like the control line.

Ohh okay try not to stress too much, some tests are light in general, I took a test first thing in the morning and one in the evening and the line was the same colour on both not much help for reassurance I know, give it a week or two and those symptoms will kick in hehe ! Wishing you the best on your pregnancy journey Xx
