Formula Advice Needed

So Aptamil formulas are not working for my little boy (4 weeks) and I really need reccomdations for an alternative. Aptamil original causes him to have trapped gas/wind (no matter how much I burp him), a really upset stomach and his trumps to smell really bad. Aptamil Comfort causes him to be constipated. Either one causes him to be in pain and it breaks my heart to see him like that. I have tried to gain advice from the GP and my HV but the GP didn't care and was pretty much useless whilst the referral from my HV to the feeding specialist is not happening fast enough.

We swapped from aptimil to HIPP for the same reasons, took our LG about 2 days to settle onto it but she’s 100x better now :)

I had the same, changed to Nannycare and totally different within 2 weeks.

Kendamil is really good. It has no Palm oil and is not as thick as a lot of the other formulas.

My LB was on cow and gate and really suffered with tramp wind and constipation, it went like dark green playdoh and would scream. I changed him to HIP and he has been so much better. He’s been on it for two weeks now and been such a happier little baby 🤍 I hope you find one that helps your LB, it’s so horrible. I was told it can take 2 weeks to fully come out the system x

@Eleanor @Becky @Alisha @Denise just got my partner to buy Kendamil, Cow & Gate and HIPP therefore I have one to fall back on if the previous doesn't work. I will give those that are not used to the food bank

I was told cow & gate and aptamil have the same ingredients, I’m not sure how true that is but I would maybe try one if the other two first xx

@Natalie try to stick to the same one for as long as you can, can sometimes take a while to settle. Hope first one goes well 🤞🏾

Swapped Aptamil to Hipp also

Using cow and gate

@Eleanor @Becky @Alisha @Denise thank you so much for helping ladies, hopefully one will work for my little boy and he won't be in pain anymore

@Natalie be careful with trying new formulas quickly. Iv read there needs to be an adjustment period. I’d recommend reading into it before just doing it. There’s a reason there are feeding experts.

@Jess yeah I've read something similar to that too, this going to be a gradual process but at the end of the day, I need to find a formula that agrees with my son

We're on C&G after swapping from kendamil as thats quite rich - when your swapping you won't see a difference straight away it can take up to 2 weeks for a baby to get used to new milk, so he may be uncomfortable and constipated or have loose poo's for a good few days during the change x
