Slight complex about baby being small

I dont know why but I seem to have a bit of an anxiety now thinking my baby is small. He was almost 4 weeks early and is putting on weight and tracking well but is in 9th centile (drs seem happy as he's always been putting on weight) but I feel in photos he almost looks like a newborn and quite a few people comment saying aw so small etc. Is anyone else experiencing the same or has done with previous babies?

I had that with my girl loads when she was that age despite being on 91st percentile. Now they tell me she’s big despite the fact she isn’t putting weight on properly and has dropped percentiles 😅 As long as your baby is gaining weight and healthy I would ignore other people ☺️

My guy is also on the 9th centile, 3 weeks early, looks small compared to others his age but is gaining weight so I'm not worried

Aww try not to worry. They all catch up eventually and some babies/children are just small, just like some babies/children are bigger! All totally normal. Our boy was born 3 weeks early, 2nd centile, and has put on plenty of weight but we still get comments that he's small. I honestly don't care haha, he's happy and healthy and that's all that matters!

Thank you everyone! Your comments have helped a lot!

There's nothing wrong with being at either end of the centiles. It's purely bases on averages - someone has to be the biggest/smallest. So long as they are putting weight on in the expected progression and generally following their line, it's not a problem at all 🙂
