Feeding a one month old

Hi My lo is 1 month and 3 days old. I exclusively breast feed. I usually pump and store milk for the night and feed him directly during the day. Sometimes at night he directly feeds from me. His feeds span between 5-20 minutes long , shorter feeds are frequent and longer feeds (20-30 minutes) are about 2 hours apart. When I express and feed him I usually give him 30-100 (30 as a top up if he had a long feed) or up to 100 if he is only been given expressed milk feed. On average he is breastfed about 2 1/2 hours and about 350ml expressed milk is given to him in a 24 hours period. Am I feeding him enough? Should I give Formula? 🥺🥺 Also how to keep up with feeding and also pumping. It is like a full time job to either feed him or have a pump fixed on to me 😑 HELP PLEASE Nappies are also in the expected range..

I was exclusively BF my LO my health visitor says it should be about a 20 min feed off both boobs if possible, but everyone’s advice is different have you checked baby’s weight? That’s what I have been going off to ensure she is putting on enough xx keep doing what you are doing! Babe will let you know if they are hungry I’m sure xx

Also I hate both breast feeding and pumping and generally don’t pump anything any more (she is 2 months now) felt like it was too restrictive BF and pumping so don’t pressure yourself xx

Is baby showing signs of being hungry even after being fed? Are they not gaining weight? Why do you think they aren’t getting enough? My baby is a month old as well and I breastfeed only. Pumping really is another full time job like you said. I feed on demand, feeds range from 8 - 40 minutes, baby seems to be putting on weight (he just feels heavier and heavier) and enough dirty and wet nappies, so I assume he is getting enough until told otherwise by a health professional and I think he’d let me know if he was hungry. It sounds like you’re doing what you need to do and baby is fed and happy? Could it be worth just going to get him weighed if you aren’t sure? I think that would put your mind at ease.

@Nthabiseng he has definitely grown, sleep s well after a feed sometimes short naps sometimes long depends.. he has had wet (about 5) and at-least 2 dirty (mixed) nappies (about 2 proper very large poop 💩 def bigger than £2 coin) . Is should weigh him.. that might give me more assurance.. ❤️ thank you

@Hayley thanks😇🥺
