Formula Feeds

My baby is formula fed, and weighed 9lbs 5oz at birth (gas and air only 🫠😂) so has always been eating more than what is ‘average’, but I just wondered what other big babies are eating at this stage? He is 6 days old, and currently on 90ml every 4 hours, but I’m pretty sure he wants more? Any help would be appreciated, I don’t want to over feed so he’s sick, and also I don’t want to waste formula!

I have the opposite worry. Baby born 6lbs 2, dropped weight to 5lbs 12. Currently on day 8 and trying to get her to stay awake to eat atleast 2oz/60ml is so hard but she needs to gain weight. Constant battle and worry. To answer your question though, my friends baby is on the larger side and she was eating around 60ml a feed from the start and increased by about 20ml every few days. She’s growing fine. Just be led by them I guess.

My baby was born 8lb 13oz (also only gas and air 👀), 22 days old and is on 4oz every 4 hours!

I wouldn’t feed more in one feed just more often. My boy 4 weeks old, was polishing off 4 ounces so thought maybe he would want 5. Big mistake, it was just bloating him out making him upset, lots more trapped wind. So back down to 4 but just feeding more often x

my baby is a week old today, she is on 90 ml every 4 hours too, sometimes she will have 90ml every 2, baby will tell you if they are still hungry x

My baby is 5 weeks old but only now weighs 8 lbs (5 lbs at birth) and he’s having 120 - 160 mls per feed, sometimes more 🫣
