Is it normal?

So my 7 1/3 month old son has been on solids as well as breastfeeding for a few months. His pediatrician says to feed him every two hours because he wasn’t gaining weight like he should. But I’ve noticed over the past couple days he has been wanting solids more than breastfeeding. I offer it to him, but most of the time he only eats for about 10-15 minutes, but in the morning he will eat for 30-45 minutes (after sleeping all night). Is it normal? I do still pump when I give him his solids.

Just read it up for you and it’s pretty normal for your baby to want solid over breastfeeding as they transition into a varied diet and happens from 7-9 months so he is just in that period of going over now. He knows what he wants by the sounds of it 😄

@Kathryn I looked it up as well, but I just feel like he’s trying to ween him self off breastfeeding.

I think it’s normal. Some just love food! They might seem like they’re trying to wean but they’re just excited to enjoy solids. At this point solids are for fun…

@@Courtani Thomas I also read on a Facebook group that some other mums witnessed the same thing and to just let them as they know what they want. The most important thing is he is eating and it seems he loves his solids! 😂
