My little one is now 8 months and in the full swing of solids, but we started with banana (nice and soft!), mushed avocado, and peeled cucumber.
Start with veggies, then move on from there x
We did broccoli first. Toast cut into finger size pieces is one of her favourite Avacado is a good one Omelette
Eggs is an allergen so if you want to start introducing them then would you feel confident enough? I’d probably start on veg like broccoli, sweet potato, carrots, avocado, banana, cucumber etc.
We started on bitter green veg so it's not sweet like formula or breastmilk and they don't get used to only sweet flavours. As someone said egg is an allergen so maybe start on something like fruit/veg first but still good to start allergens early. We made a puree of say peas and added half a teaspoon of mashed boiled egg so it was just a small amount of the allergen to test at the start, did similar with the likes of peanut butter and then increased the amount if there wasn't a reaction
Egg needs to be in omelet strips in the beginning.
We did a lightly fried egg that we cut into strips as our first intro to eggs! But our first outing into baby led weaning we started with some teething crackers!! Mainly so I could get confident in his ability to chew properly
I gave my girl banana first, then a few mushed up veggies or sticks of boiled veg, they will gag but that's actually a good thing! Then we introduced allergens one by one leaving a few days in between. She's 7 and half months old now and eats absolutely everything, hopefully it sticks 😂 just offer a wide variety 😁
thank you everybody. I appreciate all your feedback.
We started with boiled broccoli. Eggs I'd do in an omelette or scrambled to start. Toast is a good one for holding and sucking on. Rusks are good too. We do a mix of BLW and purees. She usually nicks something off my plate like beans or mash potatoes she's nicked my toast a few times
