My lg is the same at the moment has been ill on and off for the last 6 weeks and this week particularly bad with a bad cough and fever , she usually has milk overnight even when she is well as she doesn’t drink large amounts at each feed, but at the moment her appetite has reduced a lot due to being ill she isn’t having any solids and not much milk and had vomitted sometimes after feeds too due to the cough, I try to hold her upright and sleep on my chest after she’s had a night feed to try and minimise the risk of vomitting but sometimes that doesn’t work either and she has a coughing fit and vomits, i use saline drops and the nosefrida, vapour rub and the calpol plug, calpol and neurofen but nothing seems to really help I hope things get better but at the moment I think we just have to ride do it sending lots of love I know it’s really hard and stressful at the moment especially with the reduced appetite hope things improve soon for them both x
I went through something similar with my little but he was 7 months old. ( he’s now nearly 10 months) my little boy was throwing up every bottle. I took him to the drs twice and the Hositpal 3 times because they keep telling me I need to change something. I know my little boy better than anyone and they he was really ill and got to the bottom of it that he has gastroenteritis. I just road mine out and he was back to normal in no time.
I’d speak to health visitor too
EBF but we still feed 1-3 times a night. It’s perfectly normal to 12 months at least. GPs aren’t baby experts unfortunately but I have found my health visitor completely useless too
You feel what's best for your baby . As my girl is having only 2 bottles , one in the morning and one before bed she refuses milk during the day and she sleeps from 8 to 8 so no feeding in the night .. she has 3 full meals during day and loves her water but every baby is different .. is she would be poorly and wake up in the night I definitely would offer her milk .. silkening, low appetite and daeria is normal when teathing..
Ignore the doctor and ring your health visitor, they will tell you its 100% normal for a baby to still be having feeds in the night, for comfort or for hunger. You’re within your right to ask for a second opinion at the GP office to see if theres something else causing the sickness xx
