9 month old- waking 4-7x nightly

I’ve always breastfed baby to sleep. She had really bad reflux early on and had to sleep on my chest for the first 12 weeks. She still needs to be be fed the sleep and carefully transferred. She does go to bed around 7:30/8:00 but then will wake every 1.5-2 hours for the entire night. Sometimes I feed her, sometimes my husband can rock her back to sleep. Why is this happening?? I can’t let her cry because it will wake up the toddler. Best method to get us out of this ?!

I could have written this myself. It's exhausting. We've been trying to have our son fall asleep on his own in his crib but it's not going well. Do you think your little one would accept being fed earlier, and laid in the crib awake?

Baby is waking because she is used to needing to be fed back to sleep each time she transitions sleep cycles. Have you thought about sleep training?

What type of sleep training? My heart can’t let her cry it out

Baby will most likely cry as you are making changes but you can stay in the room with your baby and offer calm comfort such as patting, shhing, picking up a little and placing down. Cry it out means leaving them in the room without your interaction no matter what. You don’t have to do that. Baby must learn to fall asleep this way though, meaning night wakings should get much easier too. Don’t make baby drowsy before laying her down. Reach out if you feel you need to 👍
