Feeling nervous

Ladies I feel like I’ve failed my baby. I’ve been very careful about who touches my baby and limiting family members to visit. I missed Thanksgiving because I’m Hispanic and have a huge family and it’s usually a party, all so my baby can be safe. Today I went to a restaurant with my husband and baby to celebrate her thinking she was safe, and the manager/owner came to talk to us and he commented on how cute my baby was and proceeded to touch her cheek :( I FROZE. A complete stranger :( I wiped her cheek with a baby wipe after but my anxiety is still through the roof

You didn't fail your baby 💜 if it happens again just try to set a boundary no matter how scared or anxious you feel

It’s not even remotely your fault mama. You did your best by not bringing her to thanksgiving! Good thing you wiped her off, but hopefully as the manager of a restaurant they follow food safety protocols and wash their hands! as much as we want to keep our babies safe they also do need to be exposed to germs so they can develop anti bodies. Just don’t worry now, what’s done is done and all you can do is pay attention now to if she develops symptoms of anything. Remember to look out for shortness of breath by watching for if the skin around the ribs gets sucked in, and check temps. Not sure how old your baby is so a fever might be more crucial depending on if she is really young or not. Everything will be okay as long as mommy is watching out for baby 🫶🏻

It’s hard not to feel anxiety about a new baby but your baby will definitely be fine and soon they’ll be crawling around putting all kinds of things off the floor in their mouth, and they’ll survive that too

I've been there with the strangers being invasive and me being anxious after. More than likely she'll be good, especially since you wiped so quickly after.
