Getting dressed

My boy will be 3 in a few weeks Getting him dressed is horrendous I literally have to fight him (and he’s a big lad!) Getting a coat and hats etc is another ordeal altogether…. Anyone else have any tips ? It’s taking us between 30-40 mins to get him dressed We have a 3 month old , 2 dogs and I’m back at work so literally do not have time to fight him for over an hours every day 🙈

Sounds like me Mine won’t wear anything but princess dresses I have too fight too put polo necks on underneath etc And a jacket like you said is a whole other story It must be a phase x

My boy will also not get dressed even if we give him choices. He screams the house down. Also no chance of getting a coat on either. I think it is their age 😂

Mine just wants to jump up and down on the bed and then has absolute meltdowns if she has to do something she doesn’t want to. Hoping it’s a phase x

Give him a choice between two - show him two tops and ask which ones he wants to wear, same for trousers socks etc. this worked for my son He always refused to wear a coat. The he saw a book with zombies and their hands and arms had fallen off (it was his 6 year old friends book!). He asked why his arms had fallen off and I said because he didn’t wear a coat and it was cold, no joke since then he always wants to wear a coat! Also with shoes I bought some off the internet he chose himself - some Spider-Man ones with lights and he really wants to wear them. It’s a control thing - let him think he’s got control over what he wears and he will be more prepared to wear it - good luck
