My baby can say words but doesn’t really speak to me

So, I made a list of all the words my baby can say, I have about 60, but sometimes when she hears nursery rhymes I can hear her say other words like ‘name’ or ‘December’ - but I know she doesn’t know the meaning - do these count? Another thing I’m concerned about it even though she’s picking up words, she doesn’t really “speak” to me in the sense, she won’t ask for anything, she won’t call me. She’ll just point in her book and say sun, tree, bus, but I know some kids are talking to their mums, how can I encourage this?

I honestly would say don’t worry so much! I constantly talk to my boy, always asking him questions and explaining what I’m doing. It’s like a never ending conversation all day 😂😂 everyday he’s picking up new stuff. She’ll get there in her own time ❤️

It will come when they are ready, but the more you talk to her, tell her what you're doing, why you're doing it, how much fun it is to do etc, read books and sing songs, you're exposing her to so much vocabulary which will set her up for the future when she goes to school. She will talk when she is ready, but exposing her to a rich vocabulary will really make all the difference for later. Congratulate her on any words she says even if you're not 100% sure she knows it or articulated it correctly, you can say it correctly while you congratulate her which should encourage her to say it again.
