Embarrassing question

So since I got pregnant I developed hemeroids and was told by people I know that they will just go away after pregnancy…. 1 and a half years later and I still have them, I have tried the creams and none work… it’s really embarassing so I don’t know where to ask or what to do. If I go to the GP will they even be able to do anything?! They don’t affect my daily life but I just want to get rid

They can tie them I had it done. Don't be embarrassed it's very common :)

@Valentina Mcillmurray mine weren’t bothered to do anything like that. Might be good to ask.

I only developed them when my son was around 18m still have issues now, my GP prescribed various items as they did affect daily life for me and they’ve been really helpful and supportive, they’re also looking to refer me onward to look into more permanent solutions

Check out imogenhorton on instragram she has these and talks all about them and treatments etc

I'd see your GP they've seen and heard it all. It's best to treat them before they cause an issue. I had one I ignored from pregnancy that burst recently. It was not a fun experience.

@Elsa I told the GP and she referred me

Are they hanging out or bleeding usually if they are not cause for concern they won’t or blast them . Go to gp as he the only one that can refer you to colorectal clinic . Do you know what triggering them also if you eat very spicy food reduce the intake , do you have a balance diet as l these are some of the most rations I was asked when I went to my gp appointment

Are they actual haemorrhoids or are they like empty flaps of skin as a result of them? If that makes sense… I ask because mine are what I’ve just described and I HATE them! They make me feel so gross and the doctor when I discussed it with them said they won’t do anything unless I really want them to because the procedure to have them removed is very painful. I would speak to a doctor and just stand your ground that one way or another, you want them gone x

@Taryn Hodgkins I have no idea I think they are haemorrhoids from what I’ve read.. if the procedure to have them removed is very painful I would rather save myself the time and embarrassment of going to the GP and just leave them even though I don’t want them there 😫 x

@Precious they aren’t hanging out and don’t really bleed, so they won’t do anything? Thank you for the info x

@Helen when it burst did it go away for good? X

@Rashida thank you, are any of the items they prescribed available for me to buy without a prescription? Ones that have worked for you x

It started to come back but anusol sorted it out after that.

Just letting you know it isn't painful. They don't remove them, they tie them to stop the blood supply then they just become sacks of skin. They put you to sleep also, and I was back at work the next day x

@Valentina Mcillmurray thank you, mine are 99% internal so I’m not sure it would need this but it’s good to know just incase x
