Belly Button Bleeding
Hi!
My baby is 10 days old and I recently started noticing her onsies has little spots of blood from her belly button that seems to be getting worse. She seems to be fine, the belly button looks dry but just wondering if any other moms are experiencing this or if I should contact my pediatrician. It’s been about a day of me noticing the blood stains on the onsie, I fold her diaper in every time to avoid rubbing and I’ve been putting her in clothing that’s a bit bigger as well but still seems to be a problem.

It’s normal as long as it’s not leaking blood or fresh red blood stains on the inside. My baby had that too.
My daughter had the same thing after her umbilical cord came off. Her pediatrician said it was normal as long as it didn’t start to smell bad seem painful to the touch or get super red.

I had this issue with my newborn and called the pediatrician. My babies was actively bleeding though. They said to just put pressure on it to stop the bleeding and as long as it was excessive that I didn’t need to come in. A little bleeding is normal. Just keep an eye on it and keep it dry. It ended up falling off about 4 days later.
