No side effects. It has been 2 weeks since the vaccination, and there’s just a tiny red spot at the injection site (which is expected). My baby was awake and cried for only 5 seconds. This vaccine is not administered into the muscle, so it’s less painful than the 6-in-1 vaccine. We had a great nurse who administered it very well. Also, the earlier you get it done, the less likely the immune system will overreact (I’ve read some research about this—there are cases, but they mostly occur after 1 year of age and are still minimal). If it helps, this vaccine has been around for just over 100 years 😅
My twins have had it at 8 weeks and they didn’t have a reaction, cried for a few seconds at the time and now just have a little scab a few weeks on which is apparently normal xx
Are people having this as routine? It's not part of the schedule in Australia, neither of my kids have had this one
@May it’s only offered to certain children in the UK. If one of the parents or grandparents is from a country that is considered high risk for TB
Thank you all! I’m gonna get him booked in for this asap!
Ours were given immediately after birth, I sought of prefer that has she gets over the pain quickly.
Ava had hers, she was sleeping when they done the vaccine. Cried for a second then fell back asleep, no side affects x
