@Amy Thank you 🙏 Everyone keeps commenting how we’d be making our life harder than we need to for no real reason and can’t believe we wouldn’t just pick the most convenient school so it has us really second guessing our mindset!
Have you done a drive around at school run time see just how bad it is? We have to drive to school cos we aren’t in walking distance of any school first few week I attempted the car park quickly learnt not to bother! We park a bit further away and walk!
@Laura Yeah it can be as much as 20/22 but we’d definitely be able to park a bit further away and walk more of it. I haven’t tried that but I think we will to see what that’s like. Thank you!
We’re not going for our closest school. It’s whatever you feel most comfortable with. I’ve chosen option A & will also be relying on the wrap around care option. It doesn’t matter if the other school is more convenient, if you prefer option A, go for option A☺️ x
I’d give it a try to see how manageable it’s going to be then make a choice! If you can afford the extra money on wrap around care then go for it! If you can find a childminder that offers it so you don’t have to do the mad commute do it, I do it for a few kid and parents say it’s invaluable to have that flexibility of not having to be stuck in school traffic for them to get to work on time!
We have the exact same dilemma, the nearest school would be the best for us parents; for drops off and picks up but there is a better school which 15mins away, it really good on paper and on the tour. It means there is a reliance on me to do all the drop off and picks ups, as we are one car family. We have decided to choose the better school. I hope we get in now, there is alot of demand for the school.
We’ve applied for our closest school but out of all the ones it gave the best vibe but if the school that was further out was better that would have been our first choice. Choose based on what you think will be best for your little one and go with your parent instinct 💜 (I chose option A) xx
