Is having a chicken thigh with rice and dal a lot for lunch?

My in laws fed for 21 month old chicken with rice and dal. I’ve also made him chicken, veg and potatoes for dinner. He’s being fussy so is he being overfed? Should lunch be lighter?

Depends on the portion size. I gave my little one a rice dish at lunch today and a roast this evening. She also eats such different amounts from day to day as her appetite is always changing x

A 21 month old stops eating when they are full. Sounds like a lot of great balanced food I don’t see an issue at all. Probably something else

I agree with Emma. Would have just thought he was full if he was being fussy. Toddlers have a really good idea of their own bodies and when they’re hungry and full. As Emma said too, it was a balanced lunch so no problem if they then eat less for dinner! Mine often goes without lunch because she just isn’t hungry. All their appetites are different!
