I'm on night 7, I feel a lot better sleeping at night. Sleeping on my side currently
I’m on day 10, I can sleep on my side but still isn’t the comfiest. I’ve been sleeping on the sofa as it reclines x
I promise it gets better! I’m on day 21 and the only movement that’s relatively tender is when I lean over sideways from a sitting position… everything else is fine! Keep going with your pain medications and taking your time, everything is still very fresh day 2 and it’s going to take at least a few days to settle down a bit 💖
I'm almost 6 weeks post partum now and my scar has reopened slightly and has got infected. This is a PSA to everyone in the early stages, don't do too much! Even if you're feeling fantastic after a few weeks, your body is still far from healed. Keep up with pain meds in the early weeks and take it as easy as possible.
I’m 4 months pp and I was driving within 3 weeks .. walking uphill with the pram 2 weeks later .. everyone’s recovery will be different so just tune into your body and listen to how it’s feeling. If you’re sore, stay in bed, let others help .. xx
I'm 2 weeks pp and still sleeping slightly propped up with a pillow under my knees. That's the most comfy way of sleeping I've found.
I’m 4 weeks postpartum of a c-section it took me 3 weeks to be able to sleep on my side. I was only able to sleep upright on my back! Hope you manage to get comfortable soon xx
The first couple of days sleep was very uncomfortable, sitting up, laying down and getting in and out of bed was agony for me but it gradually got better each day. I had a Pico 7 dressing which was brilliant. 2 weeks post c section now and not in any pain, this is my second c section.
Following both of my csections I slept almost sat up for about a week. Couldn’t lie on my side for about 2 weeks.
Ladies you’re all amazing! Thank you for responding. Definitely taking it easy & reminding myself this discomfort won’t last forever
Really appreciate this post and all the comments on it. I’m 11 days post CC and was not mentally prepared for the recovery as we elected to have one fairly last minute - the pain was such a shock the day after!! We did 3 nights in hospital where they gave me some diamorphine when the pain was at its worst and I found the walk out to the car agony. I’ve taken it super slow and been on the sofa or in bed and gradually started to do some housework but I can’t comfortably walk out the house longer than a few minutes. Definitely embracing the fact it’s winter and that I can hibernate while I heal!
It was day 9 for me by the time I was able to sleep comfortably and getting out of bed was starting to get easier. I hated not being able to roll over and get to my baby easy enough during the night. You’re doing amazing!
It gets miles better after the first week. First few days, I used a pillow in between my legs to make me more comfortable on the side.
I’m day 3/4 haven’t taken any pain killers since leaving hospital, eating lots of veg + fruit, healthy tea has really helped recovery so far. Each day gets a bit easier

Hi, I’m now nearly 4 weeks into my second C-section- since you mentioned being uncomfortable at night with sleeping, I was the same with my first and no amount of pillows would help once I got home, we discovered this magical pillow this time round from Amazon, linking it here 👍🏻 I was able to sleep on my bed from when I got home this time round cos I ordered this while still in hospital ☺️ https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07VNBH3SR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
It dramatically improved for me day 3. Side lying was really sore until then
