Oh wow, interesting to hear they have a thing for being pushy, it’s just so discouraging going to every appointment is literally more stressful than helpful 🤦♀️😖
They would never admit it, but it's my guess that pushing for interventions is just easier for them
Gestational diabetes brings a lot of risks with it, but if you're feeling dismissed, go find a shared care womens health GP asap and ask their opinion - they're kinda like junior OBs. And regardless, push for the midwife to explain WHY. Like it's your body, you want to know WHY they're pushing for this and you deserve an answer. Push until you cry if you have to. Ask to talk to an OB even!
@Georgia all my appointments have been from OBs so I requested a midwife for my next appointment, I may try the woman’s health gp because I feel like they may be able to advise abit better. Thank you xx
Definitely go ask. An induction MIGHT be the best thing and the GP may agree but you deserve to understand why.
@Georgia absolutely, ty x
I’m so sorry you’re having this experience. I’ve also had trouble at RWH accessing care for my medical condition. If you feel comfortable you could contact the consumer liaison, they’re great and can advocate for you and request further info. Good luck xx
I had both my babies at the women's. The first time they wanted to induce me for a minor health problem, I said no and they told me I'm risking the life of my baby and my own life. I went on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby and went into labour at 41 weeks. Second pregnancy was elective csection and had no problems that time, but they did try to push me to get a vbac which I said from the start I don't want
