Fussy Eater

My little one has started to touch everything on his plate and if he doesn't like the way it feels, flat refuses to eat it. Refuses to even try?! Anyone else? Help!!

Picky Eating You may notice your child suddenly only eat a handful of foods and seem to boycott others. Rest assured that young children are incredibly intune with their body's nutritional needs and a healthy child will take in what they need to over the course of a few days or even weeks! It is our job as the caregiver to prepare and serve well balanced meals, and it is the child's to then choose how much of each component to consume. Try these tips -         ○ Refrain from offering a preferred food/snack when your child refuses their meal.           ○ Don't pressure them to eat a certain food as this can lead to negative associations.           ○ Give your child choices. Example: "would you like oranges or peaches?"           ○ Get your child involved in meal prep. Some children may be more willing to eat something that they had a hand in creating.           ○ If your child refuses a food, try again at the next meal or snack.

Taken from a group I follow on weaning 🙂

Oh yeah my son has done this from the beginning of weaning and is worse now at 17 months! He has big sensory issues so many things I can’t even get him to put into his mouth to try before he has already deemed it not suitable! He does this with ALL fruit because of their texture. Never eaten a sandwich either🤦🏽‍♀️
