Could you make them stuff? I once made some distant relatives some personalised "kits". Went to the charity shop and got some bits, like mugs, aprons, vase etc and for example to an auntie that loves tea I put in a mug lots of different teas and biscuits and I wrapped it up nicely. To another one I put in a jute bag some ingredients and a recipe to make a risotto (so I bought mushrooms, rice, stock etc). I really enjoyed making them. Last year I infused lots of olive oil three ways but oil is now too expensive. This year I'll make pickled gherkins, roasted peppers and sun-dried tomatoes in jars.
