Ex-husband wants attorney present at mediation because I'm refusing to change the custody schedule.

We mutually divorced 1 year ago. Ex-husband now wants to change the schedule to suit his girlfriend's schedule, so we are going to mediation. Both kids are currently thriving, in all aspects. For a myriad of reasons, I won't agree. We are required to have 2 mediation sessions. The first session consisted of us and the mediators. It didn't go well for him as I didn't budge. I have told him multiple times I will not flex on this. This next session, the mediator just called and said my ex had requested his attorney be present. I said no. Thoughts?

Honestly it wouldn’t hurt to involve lawyers if he keeps pushing. That way you can get everything legally sorted in a way he can’t work around.

Doesn't it look bad if you say no?

I’m sure your reasons are reasonable, but without knowing them, it just seems like you’re being a stickler. I didn’t even know you could refuse an attorney being present, but I see why he would want the help.

@Grayson Me simply sticking to the agreement that has been in place for over 1 year isn't being a stickler. I just want to stick to the routine.

You’re in the right here girl you’re the mama I feel you see them more thoroughly how they’re doing and you see how they are thriving, I would just make them act around their schedule as parents should imo what exactly are they trying to work around regarding babydaddy gf schedule?

Not unless your attorney is also there.
