Not to mention it’ll end up costing you more anyways cuz the child may want custom sounds or smell or an outfit for the bear. We almost did this last year but decided against it.
@Lucy Sundin that’s the reason they offer it. It introduces them to your family, gets you in their shop and becomes an annual ritual they look forward to. we did it and bought a Hamleys Tshirt for it but she’s still too young to have clothing preference. One year she will want shoes, hats, full outfit im sure 🤣 I got it thinking it would go in her keepsakes box as her first bear but she loves it so much and cuddles if several times a day!
@Lucy Sundin it’s our daughters first birthday soon so we were able to go and just get the bear. We aren’t getting her one every birthday but yeah I’ve been told it’s cost more with older kids going as they want to get all the clothes for the bear
Thank you for letting us know, that's helpful and will take the advice above too
So do you have to have an account to go in on your child’s birthday to get a bear? Or can you just go and tell them you’re there for the birthday bear? Asking because my daughter will be ONE in January and this was something I wanted to do.
@Miranda you just need to be signed up as a member so if you go onto their website and type in birthday bear it should say sign up here. All they need is your email
You also have to be in the same birth month. My friend had the bear taken off her in Leeds and the lady was horrid to her. Although I went in London and nobody even checked.
