Did it have any effects on her development? That’s my concern is that he’s not getting enough nutrients.
@🌻Dej🌻 No, she seemed to be fine. Even helped get rid of the paci lol. I spoke with her pediatrician and they explained that sometimes they go through these phases, and eventually they will wean themself off and to not try to force other food. Still offer but if they say no, just leave the food there and say okay you don’t have to try it and let it be. Eventually the curiosity will get to them and they’ll eat it
OK, thank you for this feedback. One of his doctors also said the same, but it’s still hard to wean him off the bottle. I feel like he’s using it as a pacifier.
@🌻Dej🌻 also I was told I could offer pediasure or any of those other drinks if I was concerned about the nutrients, but my LO never liked drinking that stuff so I just kept offering new foods until one day she asked to try a bite and then everything worked itself out
@🌻Dej🌻 I get that, it’s difficult to wean off of something that can be a safety net for them. We struggled with the paci because it was our LO’s safe place to go when she was upset and she needed to self soothe
Same, we avoided a pacifier so he can find other ways to soothe himself but now he use the bottle to do that and does not want to use any otherrr bottles . He would bite on the nippleuntil it breaks and will not use any other bottles at all. He will cry for hours and hours and hours until we replace the nipple with the correct one. We try to introduce other foods and he covers his face, mouth, turn his head and shut his mouth very tightly lol He’s not interested in anything else besides rice and most purées
Is there anything specific you did to get her to finally try something new, like which food did you introduce to her?
@🌻Dej🌻 if you're concerned about nutrients maybe speak with your pediatrician or pharmacist about a multivitamin? But picky eating is very typical behavior.
@🌻Dej🌻 I didn’t do much I would just offer her foods that I was eating and just let it be. There was a day where I just left muffins on the table and said if you want you can have them and she eventually wanted to try it and then after that she eats practically anything I eat and calls it mommy food, I.e. mommy muffins, mommy eggs, mommy pizza
Awwww that’s awesome, congrats to her milestones. I’ll will try to be consistent on offering different meals
@Jenny I give him a multivitamin everyday or other day and give him purées with fiber, iron, and other vitamins in it to help too
Yes
what you could do in addition to his multivitamin is add some sea moss to his purées & he would never even know lol. it provides 92 out of 100 minerals the body needs. also, i don’t know what type of rice you give him, but jasmine rice has a lot of vitamins & minerals (do a quick google search). rice sourced from california tends to have the least amount of arsenic compared to others. also, you may want to make sure his multivitamin comes from natural, plant-based sources (not synthetic) & don’t have added sugar or artificial colors/flavors. let me know if you want info/links for where to purchase!✨
Thank you, I’m interesting in trying it & yes we eat jasmine rice. For his multi vitamins I give him the Mary Ruth brand for toddlers. Can you provide with me resources for plant base multi vitamin & the sea moss?

@theminidietitian on insta has great resources and free content too that I find super helpful!
@Stefi I can’t find this Insta for some reason
My LO went through the same thing where she would only eat cheesy broccoli rice everyday, sometimes she would eat for lunch and dinner depending on her mood. Eventually she did faze out of it and started to branch to other meals but I learned that as long as she is eating then it’s better than nothing. Now she’ll only eat Mac n cheese or pizza and strawberries are her new favorite snack (:
