Switching to cows milk

Hello mamas, my little boy turned 1 on Thanksgiving day! And I actually don’t have our 12 month checkup until after the new year, but our WIC starts us out Dec w/ whole milk & no formula. So I have two cans left and I’m going to try to transition over. My question is, will the feeding times be less then formula? I’m finding that today, I’m trying to feed him more food food, so he had a good breakfast 1st thing, usually I do baba first but switched it up. But now it looks like he’ll probably only get 21 maybe 25 oz of formula/milk and usually he still drinks 25-28oz formula. Is this okay?

My pediatrician wanted me to limited my son’s milk intake to only 16oz a day because it was causing him to have iron deficiency. Apparently too much milk can prevent the absorption of iron. So now we give him mostly solid food during the day and only give him a bottle for his daily nap or when he gets really fussy. The rest he takes during his night feeds since he still wakes up for a bottle multiple times in the night. Not encouraging you to limit how much milk you give your baby but just thought it’d be helpful to have that bit of information.

Mine wakes up for night feeds here and there as well and is almost 13 months. Is that normal?

You can give him the whole milk while controlling that he doesn’t get allergy with it
