@Paulina thankyou this is what I thought think just needed a bit of reassurance x
My mum genuinely asked about tiramisu in the 9 week midwife appointment when talking about diet (we are Italian and she thought that was a critical question) and the midwife said it was absolutely fine!!! UK eggs are okay. You will be fine, as will baby xx
The amount of alcohol is minuscule (probably comparable to a ripe banana) and as long as it was made with lion stamped egg (both restaurant and shop bought should be) then it's all good :) x
God this was a massive craving of mine in the beginning (currently 15 weeks) and I still ate it! I wouldn’t worry I just wouldn’t eat too much of it xx
I’m confused as to why tiramisu would be a no no during pregnancy?
@Ivanda the mascarpone the coffee the alcohol and the egg yolks
@Anya I thought mascarpone was okay since it’s pasteurised? The coffee is so little in there..I think having a bit of coffee is alright, no? I’ve never used eggs in tiramisu, I must have the wrong recipe 😅
@Ivanda that’s the thing! If you buy it you don’t know how they’ve made it what they’ve used etc..if you make it you know what’s going in there. Being pregnant hasn’t stopped me from eating it tho haha
I had one too and I hadn’t even thought about it until I read this post
You’re fine, especially if you’re not unwell by now! If you’re in the UK you can eat most eggs raw even while pregnant
You'll be fine, baby will be fine too x
