I have this, I’ve had to have scans every 2 weeks throughout my pregnancy, consultant is saying I need to be induced at 39 weeks if fluid stays the same. I think google makes it feel scarier than it is, I originally panicked but then it’s more common than you think xx
Yes I did, I agreed to an induction at 40 weeks - reason they gave was that there is potentially an unknown factor causing the fluid and therefore they would rather get baby out as soon as full term. If you are having an elective section there will be no difference for your birth. They recommended continuous monitoring for me once I was in labour. They had to put an NG tube to my daughters stomach when she was born to check for fluid, but it was after around 30 minutes of skin to skin time and she was absolutely fine. My midwife also talked me through what to do if my waters broke spontaneously.
Please ask for more scans on a weekly basis, I had the opposite situation. Mine is oligohydramnios, had a scan at 36+5 everything was normal, went for a growth scan at 38+3, the scan showed literally no water around the baby and my waters were not broken either.I had to undergo emergency C-section in just 5 hrs after my growth scan appointment and I can't thank enough - was very lucky. So even if you have a planned section, please request for a weekly scan if possible
I did, it’s not usually something to worry about too much especially as you’re having an elective section already booked in! I was induced at 39 weeks for the same reason and had no issues, in and out of hospital within 28 hours x
