C-section and my choice

Hey everyone, I’m not really sure what I’m wanting from this post but just feel the need to hear from other. So backstory. This is my 2nd pregnancy and my 2nd with GD. First day was induced at 38+4 due to GD and possibly a big baby. This ended up in an emergency section and baby boy being a ting 6lbs 5oz Fast forward to now. I’m currently 36 +4, had scan yesterday and they are saying baby is currently estimated at 8lbs 11oz. Went to speak with the Diabetic consultant today (who originally booked my section in for 18/12 which would make me 38+4 but was told I was still allowed to change my mind as it’s my choice) At one point today she mentioned size of baby and was more than happy for me to go with the pre booked section. At this point I’ve had a full blown breakdown about this as I’ve been in constant pain for months with PGP to the point the smallest of movement send the worst pains into my pelvis, legs and back. I begged her to bring the section forward as I’d also been admitted in the hospital Wednesday-Saturday last week with possible early labour and having hypos. I even said if it’s not possible to bring the section forward let me go for an induction. Her reply floored as I was told that wasn’t an option anymore and that no one would be willing to induce me due to size of baby and the risk on previous scar ect. So I’ve walked away with C-section date of 9/12 but also been told that a baby being born this early could have issues with adhd, autism and breathing issues. I’ve also been made to feel like my feeling and choices don’t matter and have been taken away from me. As I was also told that if my waters went between now and then they would take me in for an emergency cation and wouldn’t be given the choice to try and labour. Can I please just have some positive feedback on planned sections, your choice and baby sizes at birth compared to scans. From a very overwhelmed and anxious mummy to be xx

What she's said makes zero sense in terms of an increased risk of ADHD autism and breathing because you'll be 37 weeks which is full term. In fact they induce you at 37 weeks if your on insulin at 37 weeks.

My second was a planned c section because my first had shoulder dystocia. Prediction was she was going to be around 6lb 14oz like her brother but I started having reactions to the insulin and the c section was pushed to 37w and change instead of waiting to 38w and change (my first was also born at 37w and change. They thought I was going to go into labor at 36w so I was given steroid shots to help his lungs develop faster). Despite having GD, baby girl came out at 6 pounds, an itty bitty thing. Fast forward six months, she's a happy little girl who just signed milk!!! 🩷 Btw, my 3 year old son who was born at 37w and change does not have breathing issues (neither does my daughter) and re: ADHD and autism? He seems fine... The teacher's impressed he's taken on to rhyming 🤷🏻‍♀️ also... Aren't we all a little ADHD or on the spectrum?

Ive never heard about increased risk of ADHD/autism by having a baby at 36 weeks! Im dont think she should have said that to you at all!!

I was at an appointment a few weeks back and the midwife was just chatting to my mum and I think she was saying how steroids they give if their lungs aren’t fully developed enough have been linked to adhd, obviously this wasn’t done to try scare me it was general chit chat so I think they are just trying to make sure you’re well informed
