I tried him with banana & watermelon at 5 & a half months but waited until he was 6 months for everything else.
I think she’s probably just showing interest in you and that you are doing rather then the food because she ain’t got a clue what food is at this age x
3 & a half months is far too young for them to have any food.
At 4.5 months I started first tastes very slowly, I gave the same veg for 2 days then switched to another, I did this for a whole month and I then I started combining veg and fruit together and giving breakfast and dinner then at 6 months he went into meal 3 full meals a day.
Started tasting at 5 mo and eating at 6/7.
Weaned my daughter from 5.5m under instruction from the GP for chronic constipation. 3.5 is WAY too young. She’s absolutely not ready, she needs to be able to sit up confidently without support, grasp things and bring it to her mouth, have more control over her body. Her gut and bowels are still developing and will not be able to cope with food at this stage. Please do not do it. she isn’t interested in food, just you.
@Rachel and @Claire agreed I wasn’t planning to start now as she needs to do more things on her own. As well as her digestive system needs to mature more too. My two older kids started when they were 7 months old. I heard some babies nowadays start at 4 months which seems ify too so wanted to see what others thought and did. I’ll definitely be waiting till she is older and pediatrician recommends plus try BLW.
@Amy awww 🥰 I didn’t think of that so mostly likely true 😂 thank you
Avocado was his first food like two days before he was six months (I was excited and I figured it was close enough) and he still loves it, 2 years old in a week
6 months. First foods were broccoli, avocado and black beans. We used the solid starts app to figure out how to serve foods in age appropriate ways. We followed our pediatrician’s advice to wait to introduce fruits so she doesn’t develop an overly sweet palate, and gave her fruits starting at 8 months. We always just gave her what we ate, just cooked without salt and added salt to our food after serving baby. She’s a great diverse eater now as a toddler
I tried at 5 months she had no interest even though I thought she was ready. Really just depends on baby. She didn’t really start eating until 7 months
some of her first foods were fruits, avocado, steamed veggies and eggs. we did BLW and started at about 6.5 months when i felt she was ready
