You can request to see a different midwife definitely, your care is in your hands. I'd give the community midwives line a call and have a chat with them:)
You can request a different one. Is it just this one experience with the text? I wouldn't change just because of that, she might be on leave, might only reply to messages that she receives during work hours, might have a faulty phone system, might be inundated with texts there's no way to reply to them all etc. for this reason there's lots of places where you cannot text your midwife (I don't have access to that service) I also don't see the same midwife, it changed each time and I only saw the same one twice! So it massively varies by area
I had to change mine after the birth of my second daughter. I just spoke to my local midwife unit and asked for her not to return. There was a couple of incidents that bothered me. In my current pregnancy, I asked not to be seen by her and was allocated to a different one. It was incredibly easy to do.
@Charley nooo it’s not just this one instance where she hasn’t responded to me, I did take all of that into consideration because I didn’t want to come across a bitch😂 but I still haven’t heard from her, and last time she was on leave she assigned me another midwife, I just don’t feel very supported by her, this is my first time pregnancy and yes although I am low risk it is still very daunting😂and I don’t text her at ridiculous times either
So I’m not sure if it’s different for you and that you see one midwife in particular? I see the whole community of midwife’s but there was one I didn’t necessarily like so all I did was email the main contact email for my community (same email address where I email any questions or concerns) and requested not to see her again so they added it to my notes! And so far I haven’t seen her since!
