My girl has gone 4 days a week since July and she doesn’t have a meal when home. I know some nurseries eat particularly early though, her childminder is still early-ish but 4:30/45 and it’s a light tea but the lunch/breakfast is filling and she eats lots throughout the day. We always planned to offer her a meal at home but to begin with she wouldn’t nap so literally was asleep as soon as got in the door before 6pm. She’s been completely fine and happy and healthy and growing! Sleeps through mostly, isn’t hangry in the morning. She also doesn’t really have milk as never had a bottle. Now that she is up for a bit when she’s home we offer cups of milk and maybe peanut butter toast but she doesn’t eat much. She’ll never turn down greek yoghurt so can use that as a filler. But otherwise just be led by them, offer but don’t force and then just evaluate how she is and it’ll most likely be fine. Total calories for the day will still most likely be enough.
Thank you ladies! She has always had some fruit or yoghurt when back at the very least but I am concerned she isn’t having her dinner at all. She has a high tea at 3pm and that’s usually picky bits xxx
Yes we are too! He will have a wafer or some fruit but always something tiny or nothing at all but then at nursery he does always eat x2 or x3 of everything so imagine he’s just extra full 😂
