Meal stress!

What are your toddlers having for meals? Lots of parents on Tik Tok seem to be able to cook their toddlers fun and interesting meals and of a large portion size aswell. Honestly I don’t know where they get the time to do it. My toddler will cling to me aswell so I can’t cook meals for long periods of time it’s physically impossible. I work 10 hours a day Monday-Thursday, I do all the cooking, all the cleaning, all the money management, all the planning, basically every single element of our household is me. On a typical day my toddler will eat: Breakfast - weetabix or porridge Snack - veg muffin or banana muffin with grapes and cheese Lunch - scrambled egg on toast with yogurt and fruit, sometimes avocado with it, or a veg omelette with yogurt and fruit Snack - a toasted bagel/pitta with hummus and fruit, or veg fritters Dinner - things like Spag bol/chicken veg curry/salmon/cod/pulled chicken, all served with a carb like rice/homemade chips or pasta when she’s not on a pasta strike and vegetables Pudding - banana with almond butter, or fruit or an oat bar or yogurt Before bed snack - small cocoa rusk and then 9oz milk Writing it down I feel like my toddler eats a balanced diet but I never feel like I’m doing enough and I stress myself out so so much trying to find new things to try for her. Help/reassurance please x

This is amazing

Yeah this is really good. Makes me realise how much I don't do for my 13 month old. I'm the same, I literally don't have time to cook him meals. I can only cook when my partner comes in from work which is 6pm and by that point my sons Dinner has been done already. So he currently lives on microwave tray meals and he has a pudding after every meal but it's usually a yoghurt pot, custard pots or the ellas kitchen apple crumble pots etc. I just don't have the time. Most he gets that's cooked is fish fingers and potato waffles

Wow 😍 you’re doing so great, mama ❤️

You're amazing with meals! My boy eats whatever we have, I prepare without any seasoning put away for him and then add seasoning for us

Sounds amazing, wish I could do that much 🤣 x

Honestly I could’ve wrote this myself! Looking at your meal plan it sounds exactly like what my little boy has on a daily basis and seeing all the lovely comments has made me feel loads better so thanks for sharing and don’t be so hard on yourself! I said something similar to my dietician last month as I was telling her how stressed out I get, she said it may be that those parents who post these things either a) have a hungry baby, b) have a baby on a larger centile (mines only on 25th) or c) they are down right lying and doing it for the likes 🤣 so ignore them and keep doing what you’re doing! X

You are doing amazingly!

Sounds like a really good diet to me. My toddler eats what we eat. I don't make anything different. I don't have time. I also like to batch cook a few different things in one day so there are some different things in the fridge I can use for the week. And on shopping days, it's whatever is in the house, so I might make egg fried rice and veg or something. You are doing great with meals, don't be stressing. I was a bit like that too, thinking she had the same meals all the time but it's a balanced diet at the end of the day
