@Claudia I was advised against this, but I think I may just do it any way for peace of mind. It's not top of the range, but it's not cheap, and the cuff is big enough and has been accurate in the past.
@Nyla Oh right! Surprised you were advised against it 😯 maybe don't listen to me then? 😄 Who knows what's right! xx
She said the monitors people have at home have small cuffs and can often take inaccurate readings for those in pregnancy. I do not consider myself a big lady, just Curvy size 16/18 at the moment, being pregnant and all 😂😂
I'd look into cardiac coherence. It's just breathing exercises that can help lower your blood pressure. There are free apps. I use "cohera". Set it up for 5min, 6 cycles/min and 40/60 and do it 3 times a day and it should really help! x
@Audrey thank you, i will look into this now.
You can buy different size cuffs or if it gets really bad they might loan you one from the hospital i was given one to use till I have my baby and i check it 2/3 times a day if it's high then i take 3 readings 30 minutes apart whilst resting and if they are still high i am told to ring the fetal health unit and go over. Im also on tablets for it labetalol and nifedipine but still sometimes they don't even manage to keep it down and im on the highest dose i have to go hospital twice a week for checks and I'm getting induced at 37 weeks I'm 35 weeks tomorrow x
@Helen thank you that's really helpful. Wishing you all the best also for the safe arrival of your bubba and everyone's also
(If it were me) I'd monitor your own BP twice a day from home after resting for 5 mins - that way, if it surges, you'll be ready to nip anything in the bud before it becomes a problem. 😊 I take my BP every day simply because of having low PAPP-A, which is a risk factor for hypertension xx
