@Amelia my daughter is same age, obviously I don’t plan to give her juice until hopefully 2yo. But I’ve seen parents give their child juice when they are 1 and half. I mean would organic or all natural juice be okay? Or they still full of additives?
@Rebecca that’s a good idea, I mean kids just want colour 😂
If you wanted to mix it up you could just add fruit into water to make a flavoured water. From what I understand we want to get them used to the idea of drinking water as is but if you've got a little one that just isn't drinking or getting dehydrated then you gotta do what you gotta do
My boys are 2 & 3.5 and they don’t have squash or juice at home. On the odd occasion that we go out for dinner or go to birthday parties they’ll have it but that’s it
Just make my own juice and smoothie at home, that way I know there are no added sugar to them
My son wouldn’t drink much water, we added a few drops of juice and now he drinks loads. It’s heavily diluted so I don’t see it as an issue, he was 11-12months
We haven’t yet. Our daughter is 18 months and not had anything other than water or milk yet. We’re lucky that she’s always been good at drinking water, else no doubt we’d have had to give her something else to keep her hydrated. But while she’s happy with water, that’s what we’re sticking with!
Mine won’t ever be offered any indoors on a regular basis, if we go to a friends or it’s a birthday or something he can have it as a treat other than that he can have strictly water x
2.5yrs. My sister took him for a day and bought him his first happy meal w apple juice- he had a couple sips and asked for water anyway 😂 I’m a huge water drinker myself no sodas rarely juice so that’s what he drinks mainly- water. He loves smoothies since he was 6-7m though, avo smoothie in particular. We don’t buy squash/cordial. And the juice in my fridge is cranberry juice (for female health, antioxidants) and that’s too sour for him 😂 he had a sip once and shook his head
Never at home but if we go out so many places do a fruit shoot with the kids meal they will often have them (my kids are 2 and almost 4)
Squash: put the tiniest bit of it in a cup then loads of water to make it more water than juice 🫶🏼
