I asked the doctor about it being pots but he said it’s not that , as my heart rate is irregular and with pots is high but it’s upon standing and has a pattern to it. But thx for the suggestion
I'm thinking its anxiety that's severe. I used to get this and had to get on anxiety medicine and something to help sleep. Go see a doctor and it helps so much.
I had the same heart rate issues (no pain though) and it started about a week after birth! After going to the er and staying a few days, it was diagnosed as inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The cardiologist also said it could be anxiety but also that hormonal changes or even fluid shifts can cause it and that over time it would go away. They had me continue to hydrate a ton (pp plus night sweats plus breastfeeding was using all my hydration) and give it time and after about two weeks it seemed back to normal!! I saw my gp this week and she said she actually sees this with women and it’s harmless. Which was a relief because most OBs I spoke with were clueless. I find my heart rate increases with anxiety but no where near where it was when this two week episode was happening. I can get up without it skyrocketing now 😂 oh and yes they did like every test (bloods, ecg, ekg, echo, ct, xray) and everything was totally fine so that’s how they diagnosed me with IST
Thank you for the comments , so far ecg and blood tests are all coming back normal and tomorrow I’m starting therapy !
Sounds like POTS to me (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Maybe do a little reading on it and see if it resonates with your experiences. POTS can develop during/after pregnancy, after having basically any kind of infection, after brain injuries, etc. Whatever may be going on, if you feel that it’s really not “just anxiety”, don’t let the doctors write you off as someone with anxiety. When the body’s autonomic nervous system goes wonky, symptoms can look like anxiety. You could always try adding some electrolyte drinks (the salt is what might help) and see if that helps, and/or use an abdominal binder (compression garments can help sometimes too)
