Sudden accidents

Im really struggling with my 3 year old. I have a 3 month old baby who my son loves to bits! Will coo over him and try and get him a dummy or muzzy. My son was also fully day time potty trained. He has now started to mess himself poo and wee. Recently. Not in the last three months recently. Today as an example he told me he finished dinner and I said he could get down from the table and go into the lounge. He could play ect before his bath. I walked in the lounge and he told me he pooped and weed himself. He used to get distressed if he needed the loo and was desperate. He always told me if he needed the loo ALWAYS! and now this. He's driving me insane enough as it is and I'm trying to freaking hard not to be harsh. I'm trying to be loving and fun but this has hacked me off big time. Thinking about getting him ASD assessed.

It isn't uncommon for them to go through episodes of having accidents again, my oldest turned 5 in October and still has accidents around times of big change. So we moved house that caused him to start having accidents again, and other changes. I know your youngest is 3 months but it could be that change that's caused it, my oldest behaviour got worse around 6 months in and my youngest had started trying to sit and weaning. I think he suddenly realised he's another person if that makes sense. He has a lot less accidents now but he's had 3 in the last 2 weeks at school (school being the big change again). Others in his class have also had accidents. I guess I'm trying to reassure you it's nothing to worry about albeit frustrating when they've been trained for a while its not uncommon unfortunately x

Thanks @Rachael I just have no idea how to navigate this and I worry if it's ASD what I need to do to help him. Sounds like it isn't uncommon though. I'm also worrying he's being "bullied" by a kid who used to be his friend. Bullied being more pushed around a bit.

Mine has been having poo accidents for the past 3 months and wee accidents from time to time. We had a baby in early September and we started 2 weeks before we had her and she was doing well but now doesn’t tell us when she needs a poo and had been holding it in. We’ve done back to nappies for now and will try again in a couple of months.

@Rupi thing is, my son was fully potty trained from easer time. I've been advised not to go back into nappies as this will cause confusion and make it harder for them to get over the issue

From the sounds of it it's pretty common. I have a 3 year old and 3 month old too, going through the exact same thing. I'm happy I saw this post because I swear I'm so close to losing it 🙃
