MIL cut my baby

So my baby (10 months) stays with my MIL mon - wed when I’m at work. Today she came home with a cut and swelling under her eye. My mother in law tells us my baby was over excited about something a hit herself on MIL’s thumb and her nail caught her under eye. I have no reason not to believe it was an accident. However, I still feel very very angry and upset. I’ve been in tears and I feel sick almost that it happened and I was not there. My baby seems completely fine now, and I know accidents will happen, but I’m still not over it. Help?? Has anyone felt the same?

I just did the same with my own baby… I think you may just need to get over it. It’s better than the baby being in daycare

These things happen, I cut my baby with my nail once, she cried and it left a mark then scabbed over :( I think it’s massively unfair to hold this against her, it was obviously an accident that you could have easily done (and probably will do one day) imagine once they start crawling/walking there are going to be loads of bumps and falls and caught fingers. Just lots of cuddles for baby but please don’t hold this against your MIL I’m sure she apologised to little one and gave them lots of cuddles and kisses

These things happen, accidents happen. I wouldn't hold it against your MIL it's not like she intentionally hurts her

@Georgia Nwabuko thank you dear, I needed to hear that. Shes brilliant my MIL i had a terrible day at work too so I’m sure that played a part in the way I felt.

Definitely cut my girl by accident with my nail more than once, especially when she was little and wobbly xx

Unfortunately we cant protect our kids, the creator does and the messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever says "In the Name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing" nothing will harm him. And if it ever happens its a test for you what will you do May allah protect your baby and no harm get to him no matter what

I did this myself with my baby, she slammed her leg down while I was changing her and hit my thumb nail. I’m sure your MIL felt awful about it but it’s just an accident.
