My boy is going through his second cold and chest infection. The doctor said as long as he is hydrated he will be fine. Have a look at the forehead finger check. It's basically just putting your finger on their forehead and pressing slightly and if when you pull it off it goes from white back to normal that indicates hydration. For the congestion I'd suggest trying nasal drops a try if you haven't already. These seemed to have really helped my little one get all the snot out and breathe better. Calpol plug in at night is also helping him. Maybe try relieve some of the congestion and you might find your lo drinks a bit more? ☺️
I’d suggest just getting him checked over by a GP, one to rule out if he is a little dehydrated if he is also popping a little more than usual and 2 to give you some reassurance that he’s ok, but genuinely as long as he is taking more than 50% then that’s ok! As for the poop, he will be swallowing a lot more micas/saliva which has to come out out some how! I’m a children’s nurse and colds at this age and this time of year are so so common xx
My LB was unwell and similar thing happened. Anything less than 50% of usual intake I was advised to go A&E. Paediatrician said increased pooping is normal as the body tries to flush out the bad stuff. Since he’s still little before call the GP and ask for a telephone consult, my GP has been great and would call me daily to check on symptoms until he was better and gave me a link to message him directly ….. although I’m not sure every practice is like this!
We’re just getting over a cold and dr said they’d be concerned if baby was drinking 50% less and having 50% less wee’s
