I had this on Monday at my 16wk appt, all my readings were high with the midwife and they sent me to Maternity Priority Unit at hospital to get checked out - I did say my BP is normally high at hospitals and Doctors but they wanted me to go anyway. All my other bloods and urine tests were clear and fine and they weren't worried about Preeclampsia or anything serious. 6 hours later I came home with BP tablets. I brought a machine for home as well and I've been absolutely fine at home all within normal/optimal range so I've not taken any tablets but I majorly stressed me out as well 😩 I felt so sick and I'll on the Tuesday as I just didn't sleep and was so exhausted 🤦🏻♀️ I've just been doing a reading in the AM and PM to make sure and if it's high I'll take my tabs. A lot of people have what they call "White Coat Syndrome" which is high blood pressure around doctors/hospitals so ots completely normal to be high there and normal at home. Don't take too many, you'll stress yourself out even more ❤️
White coat hypertension maybe? Did you feel nervous? I used to suffer from that and had a blood pressure monitor at home so I could check out any weird readings I got at the doctors.
I had this - high at midwife apt and the I had to take a monitor home and do it 3 times a day for a week and take the results back. It was absolutely fine. Was just a stressful day at time I think!
For some reason, my BP and heart rate always spikes whenever I’m having it checked at doctors/hospital which I told my midwife in my booking appointment because my HR was 98! It’s been happening to me for years but when I take my heart rate at home it’s normal 78-82 bpm and my blood pressure is always normal at home too but then spiked at the doctors. I have diagnosed anxiety and panic disorder though, so I know it’s because of that. Maybe you just get nervous but aren’t necessarily aware of it xx
I have been doing my BP since the appointment and all have been within anything from 104/65 - 110/74.
Mine always comes up high when in a medical setting and better once I’m home. I’ve been told I have white coat hypertension.
