My baby girl is only 5 months old so I don’t have the knowledge yet as far as eating solid foods but I can guarantee you’re not a failure! All babies grow at their own pace, you’re doing the best that you can and your transparency right now shows that you’re truly concerned and want the best for your LO, hang in there and I hope more mamas can actually comment with experience.
What kind of solid foods have you tried?
My boy is 1 year and 2 weeks and he's still not showing interest in solids. I do use BLW method since he was 6mo and he has tried most things but literally take 2 bites off of something and then refuses to continue eating, sometimes not even so much. I am concerned as well and also have the tendency to feel as I'm failing at it 😔
Please don’t worry ladies! Just keep offering and time your meals with them so you can lead by example and it will come. My LG used to eat everything. Literally everything. You could give her a broccoli head and she would sit happily with it, loved a sandwich on the go, even unusual food but when are started nursery she did a complete about turn and is so fussy at home. She’ll accept a banana and a rusk and I’m now back using puree pouches mixed into things just to try and get some veg in. I think the take home is that everything is a chapter. You can only offer and set an example and wait for them. If you are encouraging them and making things fun too, you are doing a really great job. Just by being in the post and reading means you are a great mummy doing her best by searching for ideas for them. Having a full set of teeth helps too. Imagine how weird chunky things are with gaps in your teeth 😅
I have a child that is supposed to make the switch from formula in 2 weeks and still won’t eat a meal only snacks here and there and I’m not going to lie I’m worried, she literally only takes a few bites at a time and then refuses anymore. I think I’m going to have to start cutting out bottles completely instead of just reducing them.
