Milk

My girl will be 1 at the end of this month and she’s still currently on 4 bottles a day, I give her three meals but I don’t think she’s consuming much. She just sucks it and spits it out. We’ve been BLW since she was 8 months but she constantly teething, I think we’re on 12 teeth at the moment 😭 We have tried to cut down to 3 bottles however she was waking at night unsettled and usually she sleeps 7-7. How do I cut her bottles down but making sure she’s eating plenty? When are you transitioning to cows milk?

Following as same with the 4 bottles and low food intake!

I had this problem with my oldest daughter. When I started cutting her milk down I would give her a bottle of water or really weak squash along with a snack I knew she enjoys and would eat at the time I would normally offer mink. I also found smaller and more frequent meals/snacks worked best for her. I don’t think my oldest actually eat a full meal until she was around one and a half 😅 Does she have any safe foods/ snacks? If she does you could try offering this more often. You’ll probably find once you manage to drop her milk she will start eating more. But if you’re worried speak to your health visitor to see if they can give you any advice. As for transitioning to cows milk my youngest turns 1 next Wednesday and I started mixing cows milk with her formula last week. So two weeks before her 1st birthday and I think I started earlier with my oldest.

I feel like there’s so much pressure for when they turn one 😩 her safe foods are crisps, yoghurt and fruit! I might try cows milk next week and then try cut a bottle down again but give more food. It’s so bloody stressful, when I spoke to the HV she wasn’t concerned and said her tummy was the size of my palm roughly. I just can’t bear the thought of her being hungry

Exact same situation as me my LO can’t eat too much food literally only medium sized bites and only around 3/4 sometimes Upto 12 is she’s really hungry but those bites are smaller I started mixing cows milk with formula into her morning weetabix but now I only use cows milk, I will offer her a cup of milk soon see how she goes She’s currently on 4 bottles a day but recently she’s showing she doesn’t want her night bottle only occasionally so perhaps she’s merging into 3 bottles now, each are normally around 6-7 oz . I feel I should keep the number of bottles as 3 and keep the oz the same too and see if my LO goes hungrier then I could offer her food as I usually do , maybe then she might eat more? She’s currently on a very occasional snack and tbh she loves yogurt so I would give her a yogurt if we have some in the fridge, I’m trying to offer her fruit instead of the yogurt but she don’t like it!!! She does however like to suck or nibble on those Ella’s kitchen long sticks 🫠
