Is anyone’s toddler still putting things in their mouth? This is still an issue for us.

I’ve tried everything, making her laugh (that’s yucky), explaining (stickers are not food because xyz), getting serious (please take that out right now) but nothing works.

Yep, all the time. The 2 year molars are taking their sweet time so I think that contributes to it. I've noticed too he does it wayyyy more around my husband who makes a bigger deal of it. I just redirect "cars are for driving" and he is like meh ok and very unlikely does it again. And I always have chewies on hand. He really likes the stick shaped ones now for those molars.

I try to redirect too. I think molars because he wasn't putting things in his mouth as much and then started up last month. So I ask if he's looking for something to chew for his teeth and substitute. "That doesn't go in your mouth" to emphasize.

He's definitely done with his molars now, but a few months ago we had his toys reduced to his plushies and teether or bath toys. That way there were very few things to tell him "out of your mouth" to and he understood the direction better when we didn't say it about absolutely everything

Yess, she finally stopped with the mouth thing before her first birthday. All of a sudden around her second birthday she is doing it again! A big one is chewing on our phone charger end. Like why
