I would just follow babys feeding cues and if he wants more then to give him more xx
I've asked my midwife and health visitor and the nursing team the exact same question. My baby is 3wk+5 days. They've all said to follow his cues and if he wants more then to give it to him. He could be having a growth spurt. Follow what your baby wants, if it was too much he wouldn't be asking for it! X
My little girl is 3weeks today, and she is on 5oz every 3hrs, follow your baby’s cues, you know them best ☺️ xx
My baby is 6 days old and he’s currently have 4oz every 3.5 hrs. Go with what your baby wants xx
Follow the baby’s cues. Our little boy is almost 3 weeks and he has occasions where he takes 5oz. Most of the time he takes 4 but every now and then he wants a little more.
My 4 week old is now on 5oz he sometimes finishes it all and other times doesn’t. My midwife said that if a baby is draining every bottle you should up it, doesn’t mean they will drink it all every time but can offer it. X
I had this exact conversation with my midwife, health visitor and osteo, who all said the same thing: they’re hungry, they will say, if they show it then we can’t just starve them so top it up but not over do it I.e give them a bit, wait and burp then let it settle for a bit and if still hungry then top up again but only bit by bit don’t let them guzzle. My 3 week old is doing exact same thing and he’s absolutely fine, just spits up now and then but he’s good as gold just always hungry
Follow baby's queues
My baby is 2w old tomorrow and I’m giving her around 3/4oz every 3/4 hours - sometimes she wants a little more and other times a little less! Deffo let your baby guide you 💕
Honestly you won’t make your baby ill, anything they eat that makes them to full they will just throw up and then they’ll be fine. My little boys 3 weeks and sometimes will only want 3oz whereas sometimes he’ll drink 5.
I would try pace feeding if not already doing that and if he’s still acting hungry after give him more!
There is no such thing as over feeding. If you are giving formula, just make sure you take small breaks (removing the bottle from LOs mouth) to give their stomach a minute to catch up to determine if they are still hungry.
My LG is a month and a half and sometimes she takes 8oz, and other times she only takes 2oz.
but how she said it to me was in quite a judging way, and it made me feel like i’m doing right for him.
